the whole universe

the whole universe consists of a cosmic Self playing hide-and-seek (Lila); hiding from itself (Maya) by becoming all the living and non-living things in the universe and forgetting what it really is — the upshot being that we are all IT in disguise.

from this conflict comes our chance —
it is the basis of change.
it is the basis of transformation.

His Holiness Dalai Lama, Teachings, McLeod Ganj, September 2007

by the delusions

It is delusion itself — in the form of wisdom derived from delusion — that actually destroys the delusions.
